Nancy O'Dell's debut position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was honored by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Award all media South Carolina. Following her stint in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. Then she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. O'Dell, in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
